Goals
Goals
While it is important to talk about the big picture, I also appreciate when specific goals are created. Below are three that I intend to see through if elected as the next CADA vice president in order to help elevate the organization and my fellow educators.
Complete a recognition program for our student leaders. CASL has the incredible Outstanding Leadership Program Award. Using the CADA/CASL leadership standards, I would like to help CADA finish a badging program that was started for individual student leaders to demonstrate their own mastery of these standards.
Develop a framework that would help our student leaders earn the State Seal of Civic Engagement. Many of our schools are already completing projects that fit the criteria to have students receive this certification. This could allow students at both the middle and high school level to earn a seal on their promotion certificates and diplomas.
Provide support. I want those involved in student leadership in California to immediately think of CADA if they need support. I’ve already started to create a digital notebook of resources from our own CADA Resource Library that can be sent out to all new activity directors to help them with structuring their classes, grading, and planning activities. Many of us love seeing new ideas that other schools are implementing. I would like to send a monthly email out with a no-prep lesson tied to the CADA/CASL leadership standards as well as two new ideas.
